There are a lot of claims floating around these days about registry repair tools, or registry cleaners, and sometimes, it’s difficult to buy into everything that is said about them. Some websites report them as the cure-all for everything that ails a PC, while others are more conservative in their descriptions about this type of PC maintenance software. With all of the claims that abound about registry cleaners and what they can do, can they really fix your computer

Well the answer to that question can be yes and no, you see it is not as simple as you might think. Certain problems with a computer can be repaired with a registry tool; however, there is no way short of trying it to know for sure if your PC’s problems will be addressed by registry repair software.

You see a registry cleaner does many things as it cleans up the registry; however, the only thing it fixes are outdated entries. This old errant information will be completely removed from the computers registry. You have to understand however that the main thing this information is doing is taking up space. Now over a good amount of time this can build up and slow the performance of your computer, however it should not slow your computer significantly.

Every once in awhile these errant registry entries cause visible problems on your computer. You may notice that programs are taking a very long time to load or not loading at all in addition to intermittent error messages. You might even find that your entire system has become unstable off and on.

Nearly every program installed on your computer relies on the registry for information: information on how to execute, information on the location for necessary files, such as drivers, and so forth. When you start up a program, or even if you’re just starting up your Windows PC, and there is errant information in the registry that is called by an application that is trying to load, you’ll likely experience some of the symptoms that we’ve outlined above.

When you do not know for sure what the problem is with your computer you can never be 100% sure that a registry repair tool will fix the problem. Nevertheless, this type of software was designed to optimize your performance and can repair many problems. In fact running a registry clean is recommended to keep you computer running smoothly. Therefore it is a good idea to have a professional registry cleaner installed on your computer and run it on a regular basis. This will allow your PC to run at its best and prevent registry related issues from coming up in the first place.
